In 1997 she was discovered by photograher Jesus Roman in Miami, Florida. Shortly after, Taylor was signed by Irene Marie Models. She was soon part of advertising and fashion campaigns for Guess?, Pantene, Parasuco, Perry Ellis, Rampage, and Frito Lays. Cindy soon became known as a cover girl, gracing the fronts of Esquire, Ocean Drive, Shape Magazine, Loft Magazine, Men's Journal, Vanidades, Glamour, and more.
Cindy was cast as the host of Wild On!, a popular travel series on the E! Entertainment Television channel, replacing Brooke Burke in 2002.
In 2005, Taylor shot a cameo role in the Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams romantic comedy The Wedding Crashers. That same year, Cindy landed a supporting role in the independent feature film Descansos, opposite Gary Busey and Charles Durning. In 2007, Taylor had a cameo appearance in the sequel to Bachelor Party and appeared in Nickelback's Rockstar Video.

Taylor has most recently appeared on TV in the USA Network series Burn Notice, as well as hosting Full Frontal Fashion for UltraHD.
Taylor is the official spokesperson for the Beauties and the Beasts partnership launched between Irene Marie Models, the Zoological Society of Florida, and the Metrozoo. Cindy has made several appearances and participated in photoshoots on behalf of this paternship. Their goal is to inspire an appreciation for the world's wildlife and conserve it for future generations.
